Local author to release third romance novel
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Before sending her third novel to her publisher, local romance writer Rebecca Heflin went to some of her most devoted fans for their input. They were eager to take a peek at the draft of “Dreams of Perfection,” offering invaluable insight into the production of her next book.
The novelist sent “Dreams of Perfection” to her editor at Soul Mate Publishing, who was instantly impressed and immediately approved Heflin’s proposal to make it the first in a three-book series titled “Dreams Come True.”
“Dreams of Perfection” will soon be available to the public. On Wednesday, May 7, Heflin’s third romance novel will be released first as an e-book on Amazon.com through the Kindle Direct Publishing Select program.
To celebrate, the author is hosting the “Dreams of Perfection” Launch Party, a live virtual event, through Facebook on May 7 from 6 to 8 p.m. Heflin will be at her computer, talking to fans and answering any questions they might have. She is also offering “door prizes,” to be announced throughout the event.
After writing two novels, local novelist Rebecca Heflin was afraid that maybe she had done her best work. Her second novel, “Rescuing Lacey,” garnered even better ratings and more overall coverage than her debut.
Her fans couldn’t disagree more.
“‘Dreams of Perfection’ captured me from beginning to end. The characters are so relatable, and the story is just addicting,” Heflin fan and beta reader Paul Flagg said. “If this is any indication of how the rest of the series will go, I can’t wait for the next two books.”
Some of the awards “Rescuing Lacey” received include the Colorado Romance Writers Award of Excellence, the Virginia Romance Writers HOLT Medallion Award of Merit and the Florida Writers Association Royal Palm Literary Award. It has also received positive reviews from InD’tale Magazine, The Romance Reviews, Travel Novels and many more literary critics.
Both “Rescuing Lacey” and “The Promise of Change,” Heflin’s first novel, were recently produced as audiobooks through Audiobook Creation Exchange. ACX offers audiobooks for purchase through Amazon, Audible and iTunes.
Heflin is looking forward to having “Dreams of Perfection” converted to print and audio formats later this year.
